Lyden Fire Protection District 3-11 Alarm Fire All-Stars Gentlemens Club
An extra-alarm fire gutted a gentleman's club in Northlake this afternoon.
The blaze broke out around 12:45 p.m. at the All Stars club at 11645 W. Grand Ave., according to Leyden Township Fire Protection District Chief Thomas Rafferty.
No one was believed to be inside the building at the time, but there were workers using torches on the roof, Rafferty said. No injuries were reported.
"Once it got going, it wasn't long before the roof caved in," Rafferty said.
Other buildings around the club weren't damaged. Rafferty said the below-zero weather didn't impede the operation.
Roughly a dozen surrounding fire departments -- about 70 firefighters -- were called to the scene.
Rafferty didn't know how old the building was, but said there had been one or two additions to the original structure.
